DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
- Water’s Edge was authorized to design and supervise the implementation of bank erosion protection, debris removal, riparian buffer and enhance in-stream fish habitats on Mindemoya River at Site MIN 662 & 664.
- Water’s Edge conducted a pre, during and post construction investigation of the site.
- The approved plans consisted of a regrading of the bank, the placement of vegetated stone bank toe protection, placement of root wads, floodplain plantings and rock piles were added to the stream bed to provide habitat.
- Regular inspections by Water’s Edge staff and Manitoulin Streams staff ensured that appropriate erosion and sediment controls were implemented during construction.
- Water’s Edge recommended spring and fall monitoring inspections of the site for the next few years to ensure that the site works are stable and functioning as designed.
