CLIENT:  City of Burlington.

NUMBER OF YEARS DEALING WITH CLIENT: +/- 18 years

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:

  • In 2007, Water’s Edge undertook a desktop and field assessment of all City creeks (Sheldon, Appleby, Shoreacres, Tuck, Roseland, Rambo, Hager, Indian, Falcon and Grindstone Creek) to determine the condition of each stream system.
  • Each creek within the City of Burlington was walked over its length. Stream conditions were recorded and a prioritization strategy was created for all areas where adverse site conditions were noted.
  • Preliminary remedial requirements were designed for each priority area. In addition, moderate and low priority areas were noted and a regular maintenance and inspection strategy was developed.
  • Cost estimates for priority areas and for on-going maintenance for all creeks were also prepared. Since the 2007 study was completed,
  • Water’s Edge has undertaken various stream restoration projects and participated in various Class EAs to address the problem areas.
  • Water’s Edge was also retained by City of Burlington to re-assess the creeks in 2015-2017 and subsequently in 2018-2019 we completed a complementary debris inventory.
